As a Citizen Watchdog, Richard has:

  • Fought for and won transparency and accountability of $242 million in New Castle County’s 2005 budget.

  • Fought and won against municipal governments in New York State to account for over $140 million and forced transparent and accountable budgeting practices.

  • Worked with our General Assembly members to help pass the Workplace Fraud Act which could bring millions of dollars to our state’s treasury from construction industry businesses who cheat the state by NOT paying taxes and prevents those businesses from taking advantage of workers.

As your State Auditor, Richard will:

  • Fight fraud, waste and abuse of YOUR tax dollars by hiring forensic auditors trained to find fraud, waste and abuse of public funds.

  • Make the Office of Auditor relevant. The present Auditor has been in office 20 years. Given our state’s economic situation, we cannot afford “business as usual” to continue. Richard will aggressively fulfill the duties of Auditor and bring relevance and accountability to the office.

  • Encourage public input to help reduce government spending, increase fiscal responsibility and promote economic growth in order to create good high-paying jobs.
